What You’ll Experience in the Training
The ABM® NeuroMovement® (ABMNM®) Basic Training Program (delivered by licensed training providers authorized by MCL Inc.) consists of a unique blend of both in-person and online learning. Additional web resources, regular conference or video calls, and ongoing support in small groups. Students comment the ABMNM® training program is exceptionally powerful both in terms of personal growth and transformation and in developing highly effective practitioners.
Transformational Movement Lessons (TML)
Transformational Movement Lessons are taught daily in the training. The movement lessons range from simple to very complex. The Transformational Movement Lessons you will experience and learn to teach are designed to reawaken the brains enormous capacity to foster new neural connections that support profound physical, cognitive, and emotional transformation. The lessons follow a functional progression, ensuring they are both safe and easy to perform.
Functional Synthesis (FS)
You will learn how to work with adults in one-on-one, movement-based hands on FS lessons that are customized to a client’s specific needs. Throughout the program you will learn to apply the hands on gentle movements that provide your clients nervous system with new information to discover easier, and more efficient patterns of movement.
You will have opportunity to experiment and feel these movements on yourself during the in-person segments when receiving a one-on-one FS lesson from teaching staff and during daily practice with your classmates. You will practice with your family and friends in-between the live segments. The hands on skills you will learn, build in complexity through the 10 segment program.
Theory
Each segment includes lectures that explore topics relevant to the segment's focus. These lectures cover a wide range of subjects—from the latest findings in brain plasticity and the fundamentals of Newtonian physics to basic biology and the principles of decision-making under uncertainty. For over 30 years, Anat Baniel has consistently challenged herself to discover innovative ways to make both the knowledge and practical application of her method easily accessible to future practitioners.
Group Learning
The training is designed to foster close connections between participants and the teaching faculty, as well as among the participants themselves. Most learning takes place in a group setting, where the diverse backgrounds, strengths, and life experiences of each trainee enrich the overall experience. This collaborative environment not only enhances learning but also creates lasting friendships and professional relationships that often extend well beyond the training itself.
Trainee Private Sessions
During the Basic Training Program, each trainee receives individual Functional Synthesis (FS) lessons from the training staff as part of the in-person segments.
Practicums/Supervision
During the Practitioner Training Program, each trainee leads a series of movement lessons (TML) for their peers under supervision. They also provide two supervised, one-on-one Functional Synthesis (FS) sessions, with at least one session conducted with someone outside the training program. Students are also provided supervision and feedback throughout the training during daily FS practice with their peers.
Advanced Education
Rich continuous education programs and opportunities including the NeuroMovement® flag course Children’s Mastery Program unlock upon the completion of the Basic Training.
